The Education Standards Board is an SA Government authority that regulates and assesses early childhood services and schools to ensure high-quality education services and high standards of competence and conduct by providers.

Education and care services are assessed and rated by authorised officers against seven quality areas in the National Quality Standard. Following assessment, a service is given a rating in line with the National Quality Standard.

At the most recent assessments by the regulatory authority, both Yawarra Children’s Services sites, being Pooraka Community Child Care Centre and Kesters Road Child Care Centre, were each awarded the distinguished ranking of

Exceeding National Quality Standards.

Yawarra Children’s Services, being Pooraka Community Child Care Centre and Kesters Road Child Care Centre, have both been accredited by SIDS and Kids SA as Safe Sleep Aware sites.

SIDS and Kids SA recommend that all childcare centres with staff working with babies and infants undergo safe sleep education every 2 to 3 years and undertake regular education to ensure staff are fully aware of current safe sleep recommendations and best practice.
